Not Me! Monday

In true Monday fashion...

It was not me who yesterday ate no less than four slices of banana bread, a chocolate twist donut, two mega cookies, a cupcake (plus batter!), a huge plate of nachos (taco meat, guac, salsa, and cheese), plus a cheesy, buttery, Italian lunch. I obviously realize I'm not sixteen anymore and my metabolism isn't quite what is used to be, so I would never sabotage my efforts to lose the rest of my baby weight.

It was also not me who stayed up too late last night. Again. I know the reason I've been so exhausted is that I haven't been getting enough rest, so I know better than to stay up until midnight when I have to be up early the next day.

When I set a goal for myself, I complete it. That's why it was not me who didn't finish last month's scrapbooking challenge. I'm determined to be finished with Avery's first year album by her first birthday, so of course I would stay on top of things.

I love my mom. I love Matt's mom. That's why it is not me who hasn't even decided what to get them for Mother's Day. I'm much more prepared than that.

Here's what I have (not) been up to...

It was not me who bummed fifty cents off my student teacher so I could buy a Dr. Pepper at lunch today  because I downed my huge glass of water before noon. I mean, I don't even like Dr. Pepper.

It was also not me who paid all my bills at school during my conference period since I was too tired to do it last night.

Speaking of last night, it was not me who let my daughter scream and cry while I tried to pick her nose. I mean, come on, those boogers have to go and the little blue booger-sucker just doesn't always cut it.

And although I'm sure I had many other not me moments this past week, I was too drugged up on cold meds to remember. But wait, that's not me either! Doh!

I've never jumped on the Not Me! bandwagon, but I felt that today seemed like a great day to start since I've already done so many things that were just, well, Not Me!

1. It was not me who slept until 7:15 this morning when I have to leave the house by 7:40. This was definitely not a result of being rudely awakened by my precious puppy throwing up on our carpet at 3:45 am. It was also not a result of Avery's screaming teething fits from 5:00 until 6:00 am. Nope, I would still be responsible to wake up on time so I wouldn't be late to work. 

2. It was also not me who decided to forego her shower this morning as a result of said late rising. That would just be gross.

3. And I would never wear a sweater with a hole in it all day long and not even notice until 7th period. That's not me at all. 

4. Finally, it was not me who blogged during school while her students were working diligently. That would just be a bad example. It was also not me who defended this decision with the excuse that my student teacher is teaching and I just don't want to grade the stacks of papers that are waiting for me.
