Landon: 9 Months

Landon is 9 months old!

I may be a week late in posting this, but here's what our sweet boy is up to these days:
  • He was referred to as "skinny" for the first time in his life when we went for his 9 month check up last week. He weighs 19.5 lbs (60%) and is 30" tall (95%). He's a healthy little boy, and after hearing about far too many babies who aren't, that is something that I definitely don't take for granted.
  • He's wearing mostly 12 month clothes, with some 9 and 18 month sizes scattered in there. He still wears a size 3 diaper.
  • Landon's a master army crawler! He doesn't seem to care about actually getting up on all fours because he can move just fine on his belly, thankyouverymuch. He also loves to pull up and stand, and he wants to "walk" (holding our hands) everywhere.
  • He's got two bottom teeth, and one more just poked through his top gums.
  • Landon loves to eat. He mostly will eat any purees we offer, but he would much rather feed himself. I'm trying to start transitioning him more to just finger foods, but I have so much baby food in the freezer that I hate to waste! And I'm pretty sure he'd eat nothing but Cheerios if we let him.
  • I'm starting to think that Landon will be weaning himself pretty soon. We've nursed exclusively to this point, but he's just not as interested anymore now that he's got "real" food to eat and places to go! I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but I'm trying to just take his cues and go from there.
  • Landon makes friends everywhere we go. He is just SO cute (yes, I'm a little biased, but he really is!) and he gets lots of attention when we're out and about. He's started to wave and say "hi" and "bye" lately, but when people first try to talk to him, he gets all shy and buries his face in my shoulder while flashing a cute little grin.
  • He still usually takes two naps a day and sleeps from 7 at night until 7 in the morning, unless he's teething. Yes, we're spoiled.
Landon is just so precious to us, and his sweet little personality is coming out so much more now! It's funny to see how different he and Avery are already, and we love watching them interact. Avery seems to be our cautious and bossy take-charge kid, while Landon loves to explore without hesitation and is extremely chill. He sure brings lots of smiles to this house!

We love you, Landon!
