Friday Five

1. I am a quitter. Well, not usually. But this week I made the decision to give up BSF for the rest of the year. It's a great Bible Study, but I was getting so overwhelmed with the intensity and formality of it.  I would get behind on my lessons, and then I would just feel like I wouldn't ever be able to catch up, so I just put it off and put it off. My approach to it was making me dread opening my Bible, and I hated that feeling. So. I'm taking a break from the structure, and I'm hoping to find joy again in studying the Word. I don't know if that even makes sense, but that's where I'm at right now.

2. I did happen upon a blog the other day called (in)courage.  Angie Smith at Bring the Rain posted the link to her specific post (which is so sweet and a worthwhile read) on (in)courage, so that was my introduction to this uplifting, insightful, and pretty (!) "home for the hearts of women."

3. It's really no secret that I like reading blogs (see bullet #2). Usually my time to catch up on my Google Reader is while Avery is napping and I have to be quiet to keep from waking her up. It's one of the ways I catch my breath in the middle of the day before I get back to working on the ol' To Do list. Anyway, my friend April's is one of my favorites to read, and right now she's doing an awesome giveaway, so it's a perfect time to check her out!

4. Avery hit the 20-month mark yesterday! Oh my goodness, she is just acting so big lately! I planned on getting the monthly update posted yesterday, but I just didn't. It's started at least, just not ready to publish.

5. Matt's parents are coming in town this weekend! We're looking forward to some quality time with Nene and Pop Pop, and at some point on Saturday we (and by "we" I mean "Matt and a few guys") are supposed get Avery's new (to her) fort! Go figure that we've had gorgeous weather in the 70s all week, and Saturday morning it's supposed to rain with a high in the 50s. Oh well.

Avery's new room is slowly by surely coming along, so hopefully I'll have some updates on that soon. Until then, I hope you have a great weekend!

1. I'm positive God doesn't want reading His Word to become a chore/homework/checklist item. It is okay to be a quitter sometime.
2.3. Blogging/blog reading = my addiction
4. We have 2 months before 24 months and I still think of E as a baby. Monthly updates? I gave up. =\
5. I am hoping for sunshine because we are planning on being out of the house the whole day tomorrow. Hope the fort will get put up and A enjoys her time with Matt's parents.

Take care!

I love reading blogs too. I think we are secret soul sisters...except for the soccer/basketball thing of course. We need a lunch date soon :> And I've heard BSF is intense! Glad you made a good decision for you.
